Man City and Man Utd 'targeting' PSG superstar just hours after their Champions League win and it could be an absolute bargain

Manchester United and Manchester City could swoop for one of Paris Saint-Germain's big names in the aftermath of the French club's Champions League win, according to reports.

PSG won their first European Cup following a demolition of Italian side Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Achraf Hakimi put PSG ahead after only 12 minutes, while teenager Desire Doue netted his first of the evening shortly afterwards.

After half-time, Doue grabbed his second goal of the game before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and substitute Senny Mayulu added a fourth and fifth respectively to cap off an extraordinary night for Luis Enrique's side.

It means PSG have won the Champions League after reaching the final for the second time, having lost to Bayern Munich in 2020, while Inter have suffered their second defeat in the space of three years, having lost to Manchester City in 2023.

Both Manchester clubs are expected to have busy summers on the transfer front after their respective campaigns which ended trophyless.

City ended the season in third place and 13 points behind champions Liverpool and also lost the FA Cup final 1-0 to Crystal Palace, while United had their worst season in living memory after finishing 15th in the Premier League and missing out on European football next season after losing 1-0 to Spurs in the Europa League final.

Both sides of Manchester could be in the market for replacements in the goalkeeping department, with question marks hanging over the long-term futures of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir at United, and City's first choice stopper Ederson having only a year left on his deal at the Etihad Stadium as things stand.

But Ruben Amorim and Pep Guardiola could take advantage of a situation at PSG affecting one of the club's stars in the aftermath of its Champions League triumph.

PSG and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma's contract at the Parc des Princes expires next summer, meaning that unless a new deal is agreed, he will be able to walk away from the French side for free in 12 months from now.

As per Caught Offside, both United and City are interested, along with Italian sides Juventus and Inter Milan, in Donnarumma's services.

Talks over a new deal for Donnarumma have stalled, with the Italian seeking an annual salary of €10m, but the French side are said to have offered €6m in response.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has also reported that City are exploring the potential of signing the 26-year-old.

If a deal is unlikely to be struck, it means this summer represents the last chance PSG have to commend a substantial transfer fee for a player they signed from AC Milan in 2021 and who has gone on to make 154 appearances for the French side.
