'In the next few days': £30m player now admits he doesn't know whether he will stay with his…

Manchester City endured an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign, but their significant pulling power looks to be intact.

Pep Guardiola can boast the status of the best manager in Europe, and can also offer targets a high chance of winning trophies at the Etihad Stadium under his guidance – this season was the first since 2016/17 without silverware for Manchester City.

The pulling power is so strong that Gianluigi Donnarumma may well be having his head turned by Manchester City, even after winning the UEFA Champions League with PSG.

Gianluigi Donnarumma keeps Manchester City door open in new comments

Sport Italia recently claimed that Manchester City are hoping to sign Donnarumma as a replacement for Ederson this summer, sensing a market opportunity as the Italy international only has 12 months left on his contract at the Parc des Princes.

When asked for an update on his future following the 5-0 UEFA Champions League final win over Inter Milan, the PSG No.1 told Sky Sports: “Should I stay at PSG? I don’t know, I don’t know. We’ll see in the next few days. Now I’m going to the national team, then we’ll see.”

Gianluca Di Marzio believes PSG are working hard to strike an agreement with Donnarumma – who Guardiola has already hailed – but are yet to meet the Italian’s salary demands.

The reliable journalist adds that the glovesman’s camp will not increase their demands based on his fine end to the season, but it is said that Manchester City are lurking in the background, should PSG fail to agree a new deal with the 26-year-old.

Donnarumma – who is valued at €35m (£30m) due to his contract situation – kept 12 clean sheets and conceded 39 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this season.

Manchester City have already agreed terms with Diogo Costa of Porto in the hunt to replace Ederson, although that move has not progressed any further, presumably due to the fact the PSG No.1 seems to be first choice.

Based on what Donnarumma told Sky Sports, however, we may not have to wait long to see what happens.
