Report: Out of contract Wolves man being targeted by Ryan Reynolds in potential Wrexham switch

Wolves have a number of players out of contract this summer, and one of them could be on their way to Wrexham.

Pablo Sarabia’s exit has been confirmed, with the Spaniard departing after a season and a half in the West Midlands.

Nelson Semedo’s future, however, is still up in the air, as the club looks to secure an extension to the Portuguese’s deal, which is set to expire this summer.

With Wolves seemingly desperate to keep Semedo, the same can’t be said for Craig Dawson, as the defender winds down his deal at Molineux.

Dawson was excluded from the Premier League squad following Vitor Pereira’s arrival, and it seems like his Wolves nightmare might finally be over.

Wrexham interested in Craig Dawson move

There were reports back in February of Dawson’s deal being terminated, the defender, however, remained at Molineux for the rest of the season, spending his time away from the Wolves first team.

Now out of contract this summer, it seems like Dawson already has his next club lined up for him.

That is according to The Sun, who claim Wrexham are reportedly eyeing up the 35-year-old this summer as they look to bolster their squad ahead of their return to the Championship.

Pereira’s brutal Dawson decision was needed

Some may have thought that Pereira’s treatment of Dawson was harsh, but it was ultimately a decision that had to be made.

Pereira wanted to usher in a new era at Wolves upon his arrival, and the Portuguese’s decision to banish Dawson from training exemplified this.

The Dawson decision initially split opinion amongst fans, but the emergence of Toti Gomes and Emmanuel Agbadou showed the Wolves boss was correct in his judgement.

At 35 years old, Dawson still has some years left in the tank. He would, however, be better off plying his trade at a slightly slower level, making Wrexham a more than viable destination for him.
