Jadon Sancho may be reintegrated into the Manchester United squad next season if Chelsea opt against signing him this summer, according to a shock report.

The 25-year-old joined Chelsea on a season-long loan deal last August and Man Utd included an obligation to buy clause worth a reported €30 million in their bid to offload the Englishman.

However, Enzo Maresca’s side have the option to cancel this agreement and send him back to Old Trafford if they pay a €6m (£5m) penalty fee.

If Chelsea decide against signing Sancho on a permanent deal, he could reportedly be set to play a role at Man Utd next campaign, despite widespread rumours that he will be shipped off after ongoing tension with the club.

That is according to Ben Jacobs, who told the United Stand YouTube channel" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-LdUr3jixE&t=1s" target="_blank">who told the United Stand YouTube channel: “If Sancho and Chelsea can't agree terms, they'll return him to Manchester United for a £5m penalty fee and then we have to wait and see because I don't think it's as clear cut as [Alejandro] Garnacho and [Marcus] Rashford.

“There could be a way of Sancho being reintegrated at Manchester United if he's returned. I think it's more 50/50 depending on how the player responds to returning.”

Although Sancho may feature for Man Utd next year, he is still expected to leave Old Trafford given the Red Devils’ need to raise funds through player sales.

Chelsea may yet decide to sign Sancho on a permanent deal this summer amid Mykhailo Mudryk’s ongoing doping suspension, although the Blues are pushing to sign Nico Williams or Jamie Gittens.

Sancho scored five goals and provided 10 assists in 41 appearances during the 2024-25 campaign, including a stunning finish against Real Betis in the Europa Conference league final.
