Bruno Fernandes is likely to leave Manchester United this summer if Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal submit an official offer for his services, journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed.
The Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League with their lowest ever points tally in the competition's history, and also lost the Europa League final to Tottenham, eradicating any hint of success to celebrate at the end of the season.
Now, the team's captain, and arguably the best player, could be headed to the club's egress with the future aspirations at Old Trafford largely uncertain amid this period of turmoil.
Jacobs: Fernandes Exit 'Very Likely' if Offer Made
Al-Hilal are interested
Speaking to The United Stand, Jacobs revealed that if Al-Hilal were to submit an official offer to sign Fernandes, it would mean the Portuguese international would be convinced of a move away from Manchester United. He said:
"I think the real clue will be, do Al-Hilal place a formal offer? Because one hasn't arrived at this stage, and if they do, then it's very likely that Bruno Fernandes departs. And the reason for that is because if it gets to the point of Manchester United receiving contact, my understanding is that's because Bruno Fernandes has said yes. So this is really all on the player at the moment."
Fabrizio Romano revealed via his YouTube channel that boss Ruben Amorim remains desperate to keep Fernandes at the club, but the player is yet to make a decision on his immediate future.

Meanwhile, Al-Hilal are prepared to pay as much as is required to pry the "world-class" 30-year-old away from Manchester United, and have also proposed an eye-watering £65 million-a-year contract offer for Fernandes per GIVEMESPORT sources, as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the Club World Cup this summer.
Fernandes joined United in January 2020 and has since been a vital player for the club. He has scored 98 times and assisted a further 87 for his teammates in 290 senior appearances, but it is now a serious possibility that he ends his spell at the club this year.
