Man United may have to dip into the free agent market this summer as they look to rebuild their squad under Ruben Amorim.
Ruben Amorim heads into the summer with a tough task, as he aims to rebuild his Manchester United squad without overspending, something that the Red Devils have done over recent seasons.
One way that they could do that is by looking at the free agent market and bringing in players for free. Several top options are all set to be available this summer, who United could decide to target.
Man United could target these six free agents
ST - Jonathan David - Lille FC
Lille striker David has been one of the best goal scorers in European football this season, he has been linked to Man United amongst others in the Premier League, and could see his first spell in England next season. David scored 16 goals in 32 Ligue 1 games for Lille this season. However, they may need to move quickly to try and tempt him to Old Trafford as he is strongly linked with Napoli.
LW - Leroy Sane - Bayern Munich
Man United haven’t yet been linked to signing Sane this summer, however, Arsenal and Tottenham were both offered to sign the winger, so United could swoop in and offer him a contract ahead of the two London clubs.
CM - Angel Gomes - Lille FC
CB - Oliver Boscagli - PSV Eindhoven
French centre-back Boscagli will be available this summer, and could be a good option for Man United to replace the departing Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof. Aged just 27, he has plenty left to give after a spell of six years with PSV.
RB - Kenny Tete - Fulham
Tete is due to become a free agent this summer and could be a useful addition for the Red Devils, who are in need of more depth in defence. He could play as one of Amorim’s wing-backs and would help with depth at the position.
RB - Tariq Lamptey - Brighton
Brighton full-back Lamptey could also provide more depth at the wing-back position as he is due to leave the South Coast this summer as a free agent. He made 15 Premier League appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
