Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly overtaken Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United in the race to sign Charalampos Kostoulas in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by The Sun, Charalampos Kostoulas is the subject of interest from Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls have taken the lead in the battle of the Olympiacos prodigy’s signature. Meanwhile, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are also keen on signing the Greek wonderkid, and he may cost up to €50-55 million in the summer transfer window.
Charalampos Kostoulas is the latest highly-rated prodigy to rise in prominence in his homeland. Greece has produced many promising prospects in the last few years, with Christos Mouzakitis, Stefanos Tzimas, and Christos Tzolis among those making their mark. As for Kostoulas, he has been with Olympiacos since 2019, coming leaps and bounds in the last half a dozen years.
The 18-year-old has already broken into the first-team squad at Olympiacos, turning out 35 times thus far for the Greek club while chipping in with seven goals and two assists. Meanwhile, Kostoulas has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe with his progress. Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Brighton & Hove Albion are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.
Arsenal will aim to reinforce the first-team squad by signing experienced and young footballers in the summer transfer window. With Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz not being prolific enough in the final third, the North London club can do with two strikers. So, Kostoulas is a viable target for Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s interest in Charalampos Kostoulas is understandable. The Blues constantly scour the market for highly-rated prospects, and the outlook has enabled them to sign world-class prodigies like Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez, among others. So, Kostoulas is an option worth considering for Chelsea. As for Manchester United, they never shy away from market opportunities for youngsters.
So, Kostoulas is a viable target for Manchester United, and Old Trafford is an attractive destination due to the Red Devils’ proven history of grooming youngsters.
