Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly pursuing a deal for Manchester City attacking midfielder James McAtee, according to the Mail on Sunday (via Goodison News).
Vitor Pereira is set for his first summer in charge since joining Wolves in December 2024. His men settled for a draw against Brentford on the final day of the Premier League, confirming a 16th-placed finish for the 2024/25 season, and it is evident reinforcements are needed if the club are to climb to the higher ranks of the table.
With star player Matheus Cunha having departed for Manchester United in a £62.5 million deal, Wolves have increased funds to bolster their squad and a key position to strengthen is in midfield.
Wolves Eyeing Move for McAtee
The City man is a target for several European sides
Per the Mail on Sunday, McAtee could be on the move this summer amid interest from a number of top-flight sides in England and Germany. In particular, Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Everton, Bournemouth and Fulham have all been linked as potential suitors for the Englishman.
GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed that Manchester City are prepared to part ways with the 22-year-old, who has struggled to prove his worth to Pep Guardiola. Meanwhile, a struggle for game-time has meant McAtee would prefer a move elsewhere to garner more minutes for his development.

The Sky Blues are believed to be holding out for offers in the region of £35 million to sanction a deal for McAtee, according to TEAMtalk. But the player has now entered the final 12 months of his contract, and a deal could be found at the £25 million to £30 million mark.
Wolves could massively benefit from a player of McAtee's talent. The England youth international has previously been labelled "special" by manager Guardiola, and he made 27 senior appearances in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals in the process.
With Cunha leaving a gaping hole in the offensive department at Molineux, McAtee is the sort of player who could add much-needed creativity in the middle of the park.
