Aikman Turns Heads With View on Pickens Trade

The Dallas Cowboys' offense in 2025 will look different than previous additions, one due to Brian Schottenheimer being the new play-caller, and the other being George Pickens playing alongside CeeDee Lamb.

No longer are the Cowboys a one-man band in the passing game as they were last year; now they have two genuine No. 1 receivers.

While yes, some aren't sold on the move despite those same people wanting Dallas to make a move like this, due to George's fiery personality and off-field struggles, but this is a dart throw worth taking.

And Cowboys legend and Hall of Famer Troy Aikman thinks so, too.

“I think sometimes change is good for players,” Aikman said. “I think it should be a good fit. Sounds like he's motivated to prove that he can be a number one receiver and then maybe cash in at the end of this year, but to complement him with CeeDee [Lamb], that's a pretty good tandem.

"I think it kind of probably puts everyone else in the spot that they should be, as far as when you start saying, 'Okay, who's your one, your two, who's your three?" And what that might look like. That's a pretty formidable group that they have, and I'm sure Dak's pretty excited about it.”

That's a head-turning view from one of the most respected men in the business.

With defenses now having to worry about both Lamb and Pickens, opportunities may open up for others, such as Jalen Tolbert or Jonathan Mingo, not to mention the run game.

Many are excited to see what the offense can be under Schottenheimer with Pickens and Lamb the two figureheads that will help Dak Prescott lead this team into battle in 2025, with the franchise confident that George's "red flags" won't be an issue, instead, he will channel that into something productive on the field.

Aikman thinks Dak's weapons can be a formidable group, and while we tap the brakes on that right now, it is easy to see how Troy came to such a conclusion.

Two bonafide No. 1 weapons for Dak to dissect a defense with is something Cowboys fans have been wishing for.

Now their wish has been granted.
