Newcastle United are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer.
Despite having a number of them on the books already, Newcastle United are keen to strengthen their options between the posts.
Indeed, Newcastle want to sign a new goalkeeper and have been strongly linked with a move for Burnley’s James Trafford.
Newcastle are confident about signing Trafford this summer, having come close to it last season.
Still, there’s no absolute guarantee he will arrive. The Clarets are a Premier League team once again and will surely want to keep one of their best players unless a truly compelling offer comes in.
As such, Newcastle are being linked with other goalkeepers but one of those in the form of Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher may be heading elsewhere.

Caoimhin Kelleher set to join Brentford
The Northern Echo claimed on Sunday that the Republic of Ireland international was considered a “strong alternative” to Trafford by Newcastle, and a player who could be available at a cheaper price.
Kelleher recently suggested he’s ready to leave Liverpool in pursuit of first-team football and that now looks likely to happen, just not at St James’ Park.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the goalkeeper is set to join Brentford, who are set to sell current first-choice stopper Mark Flekken to Erik ten Hag’s Bayer Leverkusen.
The Bees will pay around £18million for the Irishman, which feels very cheap for a goalkeeper of his stature.

Brentford making life difficult for Newcastle United this summer
Trafford looks Newcastle’s leading target in goal this summer but Kelleher was an interesting alternative.
Proven in the Premier League with a desire to kick on in his career, he’d have been a logical addition if Eddie Howe’s side switched their attention from Trafford.
Now, however, it looks like Brentford await for him.
The Bees are seemingly not only signing a potential Newcastle target, they’re also in possession of one.
Newcastle want to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford but the Bees won’t make it easy.
Brentford are prepared to sell Mbeumo but will surely demand big money if they are to part with one of their very best players.
