Sky Sports: Liverpool also eyeing 'best striker in the world' alongside Isak and Ekitike, wants …

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as they look to replace Darwin Nunez this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The Nigerian talisman spent the last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he amassed a remarkable 37 goals and seven assists in 41 outings. He is believed to be set for a return to his parent club, but it is increasingly likely he will be sold this summer, with Napoli keen to profit from his successful season.

Meanwhile, the Reds are in the market for a new striker with it becoming clear that Nunez is no longer a part of boss Arne Slot's plans at the club, and Osimhen has been considered as an option for the Premier League winners.

Liverpool Interested in Signing Osimhen

The 26-year-old is poised for a move this summer

As per Sky Sports, Osimhen is among the "collection of names" Slot and his entourage are considering as they continue their search for a new centre-forward.

Previously hailed as the "best striker in the world", Osimhen shone for Galatasaray in his loan spell, and he has a number of potential suitors both in Europe and in Saudi Arabia. Manchester United were previously linked until David Ornstein ruled out a move from the Red Devils, and Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal have also been in talks as they look to prepare for the Club World Cup this summer.

Reports suggest that Osimhen would be open to a move to the Premier League, but Liverpool would be required to cough up a fee in the region of around £55 million as well as £400,000 per week in wages, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

Nonetheless, such a transfer fee would be more feasible than if the Merseyside outfit were to approach alternative options such as Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, who has a €100 million (£84 million) price tag.

Standing at 6-foot-1, Osimhen as the spearhead to Liverpool's attack could be devastating for opposition sides, particularly when considering the prospect of the likes of Florian Wirtz directly behind him, who the Reds are working to sign this summer as well.
