Manchester United have started excellently in their pursuit to construct a squad good enough to compete for European football during the 2025-26 season in the Premier League with the signing of Matheus Cunha.

However, more must be done if the Red Devils are to put to bed the nightmares that have haunted them this season and seen them end the 2024-25 campaign with no silverware and their worst finish in 50 years.

Whether it’s defence, midfield or attack, United will be looking to strengthen in all areas as they approach a hectic pre-season schedule in the early stages of July.

This is why news that representatives of Tammy Abraham have contacted Manchester United, according to reports, may come as music to the ears of some Reds supporters.

Abraham, previously of Chelsea’s Champions League winning squad, is currently at Milan on loan from Roma although has played a more limited role in the 2024-25 season with 45 appearances across all competitions. However, in this time, the Englishman has managed to score on 10 occasions whilst also assisting 7 times.

Milan appear unlikely to make Abraham’s loan move a permanent transfer which has opened doors to new clubs including Manchester United.

It has been well documented that United are in pursuit of a striker having already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves whilst being linked with Liam Delap, currently of Ipswich Town.

However, the Red Devils are not the only club who have been informed of Abraham’s availability with it being reported that fellow English sides West Ham, Everton and Newcastle United have also been informed.

Abraham’s Past Times In England

If Abraham was to come to Manchester United, it would not be the first time he has played for a top level club in the English football pyramid with the striker having spells with Chelsea and Aston Villa previously.

With 26 goals in 40 appearances with Villa and 30 goals in 82 appearances whilst with the Blues, Abraham has previously proven that he can perform at a top level in the English footballing system.

However, with slightly more un-impressive numbers following since, can Abraham still perform at the same level as previous?
