Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on the Inter Milan manager, Simone Inzaghi, as a potential replacement for Ange Postecoglou.
The Italian manager has done quite well for Inter Milan, and he guided them to the final of the UEFA Champions League this season. They finished as the runners-up in the Italian league as well. There is no doubt that he is one of the finest managers in European football, and he could prove to be an excellent acquisition for Tottenham.
Contact made with Italian manager
According to journalist Tancredi Palmeri, Tottenham have had advanced contacts with the manager.
Palmeri told talkSPORT about Inzaghi’s future: “The situation is that Al Hilal offered him £25m per season for two seasons. I can tell you that he had advanced contacts with both Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur but at the same time, the priority for him is to stay at Inter.
“Obviously if we talk on a financial level nobody can compete with the salary that Al Hilal are offering. But the Premier League is always a great temptation and at the same time I must tell you that Inzaghi already rejected Liverpool last summer and Manchester United in October.”

It will be interesting to see if he is willing to take the Tottenham job and move to the Premier League in the summer. He has won the league title with Inter Milan, and he has guided them to the Champions League final twice. He might feel that this is the right time for him to take up a new challenge. A move to the Premier League can be quite exciting. Spurs have an ambitious project and a talented squad.
They have won the UEFA Europa League this past season, and they have secured Champions League qualification for the next season. If they can sign players in the summer, there is no reason why they cannot fight for major trophies next season. Inzaghi will certainly fancy his chances of competing at a high level with them if the move goes through.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can convince the Italian. Liverpool tried to appoint him as their manager last summer, but he rejected the opportunity. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
