After a week of recovery following the end of the Premier League season, Arsenal’s England internationals jetted off to Spain on Sunday for a warm-weather training camp.

England boss Thomas Tuchel is holding a week-long camp ahead of the international break, with the Three Lions set to play a World Cup qualifier against Andorra in Barcelona on Saturday, June 7th.

The players will then travel back to England on Sunday, before playing a friendly against Senegal on Tuesday, June 10th. After that, their summer holidays can begin in earnest.

Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, and Myles Lewis-Skelly were all named in Tuchel’s squad this time around, and they were spotted boarding the plane on Monday.

Arsenal have quite a long list of players eligible for England, though only five had any realistic shot at a call-up this month. In addition to Saka, Lewis-Skelly, and Rice, Ben White and Ethan Nwaneri probably both felt they had at least some shot at an inclusion.

The imminent birth of White’s child and some concerns that he’s not quite back to full fitness ended his chances, whilst Nwaneri is set for involvement with the England u21s.

Reiss Nelson’s injury problems meant he was never in contention, whilst Chelsea loanee Raheem Sterling’s season didn’t do much to get him back in the squad.

This will be Saka’s first opportunity to show what he can do in Tuchel’s team, whilst Rice and Lewis-Skelly will be looking to keep their places in the side after impressive showings in March.

The primary focus will be winning the qualifier against Andorra, and after that it’s just a case of getting through to the summer unscathed.
