Nottingham Forest transfer latest as stunning triple move 'close'

Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'close' to landing their first three transfers for the summer - all from Brazilian outfit Botafogo.

With the summer window officially open for business on Sunday, Nuno Espirito Santo has the 2025/26 campaign to prepare for.

Forest will be competing in both the Premier League and Europa Conference League.

So with strengthening their ranks beneficial, the club had been tipped to make a move for a trio of stars from Botafogo.

Reports from South America touted a £17m fee to bring striker Igor Jesus, left-back Cuiabano, and centre-back Jair Cunha to the City Ground.

The Athletic claim that such an agreement is now 'close', meaning Forest would stand on the precipice of their first three transfer agreements of the summer.

Jesus, 24, is a striker who has shown such versatility that he is able to play as a winger on either side.

He has scored seven times and provided one assist in 23 appearances this season, and also scored once in four appearances for the Brazilian national team.

In 2024/25, Chris Wood contributed 47 percent of Forest's goals.

This arrival would aim to alleviate the burden as demands grow between domestic and European competition.

Cuiabano is a 23-year-old left-back or left wing-back, capable of playing both, who has been the subject of two previous rejected offers from Premier League rivals Brighton.

Finally, central defender Cunha only signed for Botafogo in February but already is so highly rated that Forest are keen to quickly sign the 6'5" 20-year-old.

Despite his youth, he has been trusted with 16 appearances in Brazil's top-flight.

It is said the trio will all feature this weekend against Neymar's Santos in their league fixture.
