All the latest news and transfer news surrounding Chelsea as the early summer window swings open.

Chelsea are already pushing ahead with their summer transfer plans, with the early 10-day transfer window already open. The early window has been established to cover for the disruption caused by the FIFA Club World Cup, a competition the Blues will compete in.

Enzo Maresca’s men already look as though they will snap up Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, and they will not be looking to address other areas, both in the short window and the longer one that opens later this summer. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea want another striker

Chelsea are expected to wrap up the £30million signing of Liam Delap in the coming days, but their search for improvement in the front line will not end there. According to Simon Phillips and Chelsea News, Chelsea will look to sign another striker after landing Delap.

That would mean serious competition for Nicolas Jackson, while it puts doubt on the future of the likes of Marc Guiu, who will be crowded out if there are three strikers on board ahead of him. As far as Delap is concerned, it’s reported the striker will have his Chelsea medical on Monday.

"Because the stats show that newly promoted clubs often go straight back down. So the contracts are always heavily negotiated. The reality is that when there’s a high profile player who is wanted by several clubs you get presented with a term sheet – ‘those are the terms for the club’ and ‘those are the terms for the player’.”

Sancho latest

Chelsea signing Jadon Sancho on a permanent deal will come down to the wage negotiations with the player, according to Ben Jacobs. “If Sancho and Chelsea can’t agree terms, they’ll return him to Manchester United for a £5m penalty fee and then we have to wait and see because I don’t think it’s as clear cut as Garnacho and Rashford,” Jacobs told The United Stand, as cited on X.com. “There could be a way of Sancho being reintegrated at Manchester United if he’s returned.”

The Blues have the option of keeping Sancho but they can also return him by paying a £5million penalty. Manchester United will be awaiting the West London club’s decision.

Immediate Willian impact doubted

Chelsea fans are already getting excited about the impact new signing Estevao Willian could have next season as he prepares to arrive this summer as part of a pre-arranged deal. But Jason Cundy is not getting ahead of himself.

Cundy told talkSPORT: “It’s the Premier League. It is a different league. It’s demanding in other ways that other leagues aren’t. He (Estevao) might take a bit of time to get that starting berth. Eventually, and I’ve seen the same clips as you, if he does develop physically and [grows] into the young man we hope and think he will, I think there will be a time when he’s an absolute must. First game of [next] season, not convinced yet.”
