Way Too Early Colts 53 Man Roster And Depth Chart Prediction

The [Indianapolis Colts](https://www.stampedeblue.com/) have not long wrapped up their 2025 draft and signed some undrafted free agents to fill out the 90 man roster. The Colts rookies have attended mini camp while the veterans are fully in the midst of off-season workouts. The focus has now switched to the 2025 playing campaign.

The Draft is just but one way to add talent to the roster and Colts GM Chris Ballard is not one to just depend on one source of talent addition so will continue to be on the look out for roster additions. A lot can and will change from now until the final roster cuts at the end of August. I am going to take a look at a way too early 53 man roster prediction for the Colts 2025 season. So let’s get to it!

**Quarterback (3)**

Anthony Richardson

Daniel Jones

Riley Leonard

**Analysis:** It’s going to be a battle down to the wire between Richardson and Jones. Who ever takes the starting job will be force a difficult decision by the team and the other will become the teams primary back up. Rookie Riley Leonard will stick around as he learns and gets pre-season reps.

**Running back (4)**

Jonathan Taylor

Khalil Herbert

DJ Giddens

Tyler Goodson

**Analysis:** Jonathan Taylor is yet again the starter and rightfully so. The Colts massively needed to update the depth behind Taylor is offseason and they did just that. Herbert and Giddens will back up Taylor and get plenty of reps in both rushing and passing attacks. Goodson rounds out a much improved group.

**Wide receivers (6)**

Michael Pittman

Alec Pierce

Josh Downs

AD Mitchell

Ashton Dulin

Anthony Gould

**Analysis:** Pittman is the WR1, Downs will man the slot and Pierce is WR2. Adding in Mitchell and Gould to back up Pierce and Downs, whilst Dulin provides cover and special teams contributions.

**Tight End (4)**

Tyler Warren

Mo Alie-Cox

Jelani Woods

Will Mallory

**Analysis:** Arguably one of the Colts positions that needed the biggest upgrade this season. Warren is likely the starter even as a rookie, Alie-Cox backs him up. After the two it’s a wide open competition but a healthy Woods and a second year Mallory round out the group nicely.

**Offensive Line (9)**

Bernard Raimann

Quenton Nelson

Tanor Bortolini

Matt Goncalves

Braden Smith

Jalen Travis

Danny Pinter

Dalton Tucker

Blake Freeland

**Analysis:** Raimann, Nelson, Bortolini, Goncalves and Smith is the starting five unless injuries or someone massively underperforms. Pinter is a versatile back up at both guard and centre, Travis is likely the teams swing tackle taking over from Goncalves and Freeland/Tucker provide depth at tackle and guard.

**Defensive Line (10)**

Laiatu Latu

DeForest Buckner

Grover Stewart

Samson Ebukam

Kwity Paye

JT Tuimoloau

Adetomiwa Adebawore

Tyquan Lewis

Neville Gallimore

Tim Smith

**Analysis:** One of the teams strongest units lost one of its best and versatile pieces in the offseason with Odeyingbo going to Chicago. However, the team added valuable depth at nose tackle and replaced Odeyingbo with a much better suited defensive end in JT Tuimoloau. Strong starting four and key rotation pieces make this unit very strong once again.

**Linebacker (4)**

Zaire Franklin

Jaylon Carlies

Segun Olubi

Cameron McGrone

Analysis: The one position the Colts didn’t upgrade at all this offseason despite it being one of their biggest areas of need. Franklin and Carlies are the starters in the new 4-2 front whilst Olubi and McGrone provide special teams experience and depth.

**Cornerbacks (6)**

Charvarius Ward

Kenny Moore

Jaylon Jones

Samuel Womack

Juju Brents

Justin Walley

**Analysis:** The Colts needed a true CB1 and adding Ward did just that. The Colts will keep more corners than usual due to the new scheme playing more dime defense. Walley’s versatility will get him some early playing time. The cornerback group goes from la king depth to having plenty in one offseason.

**Safety (4)**

Camrun Bynum

Nick Cross

Hunter Wohler

Daniel Scott

Analysis: The Colts went and spent the bag on Bynum to partner with Nick Cross as the Colts new safety tandem. The big problem is they don’t have anyone else. Wohler likely plays a hybrid linebacker-safety role and Scott is coming off back to back season ending injuries. The depth here is scarily bad.

**Specialists (3)**

K - Spencer Shrader

P - Rigoberto Sanchez

LS - Luke Rhodes

**Analysis:** Overall pretty much the same group as last year. However, Shrader replaces Matt Gay after a massively inconsistent year from the veteran. Sanchez and Rhodes return for another year at respective positions.
