The forward was key to Wolverhampton Wanderers' resurgence last term, finishing the campaign with 17 goals and six assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.
United are in desperate need of a forward who can grab a game by the scruff of the neck after scoring just 44 Premier League goals all season, the fifth-lowest in the division.
So, now that Cunha is a Red Devil, we thought we would take a closer look at what he will bring to United next term.
What will Cunha bring to the Man Utd attack?
--------------------------------------------
When looking at the stats, it is clear to see that Cunha has been far more clinical than his fellow Man Utd's forwards in recent years.

Since the 2023/2024 season, the Brazilian's first full campaign in England, he has found the back of the net 27 times in 65 appearances.
The forward has also set up a further 13 goals for his team-mates.
Compare that to say, Hojlund, who has scored just 14 Premier League goals in the same period despite only having made three fewer appearances.
It is not like the Dane has been a creative force for United either, having registered two assists.
Considering Cunha can be deployed anywhere across a front three and Hojlund is more of a traditional nine, that is a pretty stark difference.
United are also short of goals from wide areas.
Garnacho has 13 goals and six assists in 72 appearances since the 2023/2024 campaign, significantly less than his Brazilian counterpart.
Rashford's goalscoring record in a United shirt is better than Garnacho's, but still not as impressive as Cunha's.
The England international's 11 goals and three assists for United in the last two seasons - albeit he joined Aston Villa on loan in February - is nowhere near as impressive as the numbers he was putting up a few years ago.
From Antony to Amad Diallo, Cunha trumps every United forward in front of goal over the last two years.
Cunha's pressing game
---------------------
A lot has been made of Ruben Amorim's style of play, with some onlookers arguing that he does not have the personnel to adopt it at United.
It requires a high-intensity press, quick transitions and a fluid front three who are happy to pick up the ball in any area of the pitch.

In that regard, it looks like Cunha could fit like a glove.
During his time in the Premier League since 2023, he wins the ball in the opposition's third 0.80 times per 90, behind only Antony, Zirkzee and Diallo. He also averages 1.21 tackles per game. Again, only Antony and Diallo average more.
So yes, he is clinical in front of goal, but Cunha is also not afraid to get his hands dirty, working hard to win back possession and put his team on the front foot.
The weight of the shirt
-----------------------
There is one factor we have not considered yet, though.
Hojlund and Antony arrived in Manchester with big reputations, with the latter proving at Real Betis that he is more than capable of scoring goals.
Rashford and Garnacho both had immense potential and could still prove a lot of people wrong in the years to come.
Clearly, the weight of the famous red shirt has hampered their performances in recent years, and who could blame them?
The pressure to perform must be unbelievable.
Cunha obviously wants to test himself on the grandest stage, but he will need nerves of steel to avoid wilting under the bright lights of Old Trafford.
