Despite a subpar year on loan, Bayern Munich academy product has a prospective suitor

Life can be very fickle for academy products at big clubs. They can be a no-name prospect one year and a potential superstar the next. After successful loan spells at Vitesse and Dinamo Zagreb, Bayern Munich’s Gabriel Vidović was trending toward the success storyline.

For the 2024/25, Vidović moved to Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga to gain more experience through playing time. Unfortunately, he only played four total minutes and was recalled by Bayern in February.

According to a recent report, Vidović is still an attractive option for one of his former clubs (via @iMiaSanMia).

Dinamo Zagreb are very interested in signing Gabriel Vidović. The player made a good impression during his loan spell at the Croatian club in 2023/24, which is why they now want to bring him back, this time on a permanent basis.

Dinamo Zagreb ended their seven-year streak of winning the Croatian league but will still need help in the Europa League. Just one year ago, Vidović played 1,894 minutes for Dinamo Zagreb, recording eight goals and three assists in 24 starts out of 36 appearances.

Due to his previous success at Dinamo Zagreb and young age, Bayern can expect an offer around €3M for the 21-year old midfielder.
