Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool
Liverpool are starting the transfer window off brightly and one area to improve on their agenda is that of left-back. Confirmed target Milos Kerkez has freshly admitted to the humbling nature of being linked with a summer switch to Anfield.
"Of course, something always leaks into the news. I don't know how," the 21-year-old has told MLSZ TV. "At the same time, I think it's normal that if you play well and the team does well, then you get into the news and end up on the front page, and everyone talks about you.
"I see this as fuel that drives me forward.
"All this doesn't break me, but it doesn't 'boost' my ego either, but it teaches me humility and motivates me."
Already Liverpool have completed their first signing, Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, and now Kerkez is among those to potentially follow him through the door. The ECHO looks at the latest update on the Cherries star.
Kerkez revelation
As reported by Sky Sports, there has been no contact made by Liverpool in the week since the Premier League campaign finished to go about securing the signing of Kerkez.
Going from the trophy lift to the bus parade, Trent Alexander-Arnold's exit to Frimpong's arrival all whils negotiating a £109m bid for Florian Wirtz, the Bournemouth full-back is on the Reds' radar but rather have their hands full at the moment.
However, Sky get the feeling that it will all change in the first week of the summer window actually being open and contact will be made.
The Cherries are going to be in a strong position having already accrued £50m from the sale of Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, so they can demand as big a fee as they like for Kerkez - a key player - and he does not go, it will not hurt them.
A message goes begging...
Immediately after the season finished, that had a hint of a goodbye and also interestingly made a nod to 'the next week'.

Well, if that had been a personal inkling that a transfer could have been sprung in the space of a few days, it has not turned out to be the case
With the window officially open now, though, the new week could bring about an update.
