A couple of short cameos against Liverpool and Manchester City at the start of the season, then sent out on loan to Derby County. A permanent departure this summer seems inevitable.

Came in midway through August and made four Premier League appearances before injuring his Achilles during the fifth away at Brentford. A huge shame, but will hopefully feel like a new signing when he returns.

Brought in at the start of the January transfer window to cover Axel Tuanzebe’s injury, but torrid games against Manchester City and Tottenham saw him fall out of contention, only coming on at Newcastle United through necessity.
Plenty of extenuating circumstances, but this loan move hasn’t worked out. He’ll return to Atalanta with big question marks over his future.

Having been a crucial part of the Championship promotion-winning side, his opportunities were limited in the Premier League. Started against Liverpool and Man City, but just a handful of appearances off the bench after that. With his departure already confirmed, his contributions won't be forgotten.

Missed the start of the campaign after undergoing Achilles surgery last summer. Made his first Premier League start away at Brentford, where he gave away a penalty and was sent off, but he recovered well, with solid performances against Crystal Palace and Wolves. His half-season loan at Sheffield United hasn’t worked out and it will be interesting to see what role he has next season.

Meant to be the third-choice striker at the club, George Hirst’s injury saw Ali Al-Hamadi supporting Liam Delap for the latter stages of the first half of the season. He tried his best, but the step-up was too big and he was clearly lacking fitness. Loan at Stoke City has helped, but he didn’t pull up any trees at the Bet365 Stadium. Probably has a part to play at Town next season.

Having started against Liverpool on opening day, Christian Walton had to bide his time, watching Arijanet Muric making regular mistakes before finally getting his opportunity in late December. He was incredible in the 2-0 win against Chelsea but lost a bit of momentum in January before picking up an injury and falling behind new arrival Alex Palmer in the pecking order.

Signed to support Leif Davis and did exactly that. Really impressed in all three league starts, bagging an assist against Bournemouth. Deserves huge credit for his patience. He’s clearly a great person in the dressing room.

Unfortunately a poor signing for Ipswich. Credit has to be given for his stunning display at Brighton and a handful of other impressive performances, but his time at Portman Road has been defined by individual errors that have cost the Blues far too many points.

Town missed out on signing him in the summer and paid the price. With a full pre-season behind him, he could have been a gamechanger, but he arrived midway through the campaign and failed to adapt to life at Portman Road before picking up an MCL injury. He’s got a bright future and should be a big player for Ipswich in the future, however, and we won’t forget his bizarre brace at Old Trafford.

Missed the start of the season through injury and had to wait until the end of December for a start. He’s been excellent in some games but a little bit anonymous in others, which is understandable. He can be happy with his performances in limited minutes, but it will be interesting to see whether he remains in Suffolk beyond the summer.

Impressed against Liverpool on opening day but picked up a knock in the second half that derailed his momentum. Looked off the pace until December, when he suddenly found his feet again, performing remarkably well. Unfortunately, an ACL injury at Anfield in January curtailed his campaign. Hopefully he’s back sooner rather than later.

Started against Liverpool and Manchester City before being dropped for Dara O’Shea. Luke Woolfenden’s minutes have come in patches, but when he was called upon, he rarely put a foot wrong. Looked particularly sharp when Town adopted a back three during the festive period.

Signed with a lot of hype but took time to get going. A strong showing against Aston Villa was followed up by a poor performance against West Ham. He struggled for consistency, not helped by a plethora of injuries, which saw him start less than a third of Ipswich’s league games. A ‘what if’ loanee who is unlikely to return.

Limited minutes at the start of the campaign but showed what he’s capable of in the 4-3 defeat at Brentford in October. Scored his first and Premier League goal a few weeks later in the 2-1 home loss to Bournemouth and continued to build from there. An injury saw him ruled out from the end of December until the latter stages of April, however. Will hopefully be a top Championship player once again next season.

A substitute from start to finish, barring four starts and a brief spell on the sidelines with an injury. Never looked out of place in the Premier League, even if he struggled to have a major impact. His winner at Wolves will go down as one of the highlights of the campaign, and he’ll be better off for this experience in the top flight.

The first signing of the summer, Ben Johnson’s story is one of resurgence. Having been signed to be a regular starter, he found himself out of the team at the start of the campaign. A poor display against former club West Ham saw his starts limited, but he showed a clear improvement week-by-week. At the end of the season, he was playing at a really high level, especially in the draw at Chelsea. The red card against Newcastle United was his only real blemish.

Had to wait for Jacob Greaves’ hamstring injury to get his first Premier League minutes, but looked the more solid of the two players between December and March when they were both fit. Bagged assists against Bournemouth and Everton, but it’s his defensive work that stood out – he looked really comfortable at the level. A reliable defender, it will be fascinating to see what’s next for him.

Arrived in January and transformed Ipswich’s goalkeeping department. With Muric underperforming and Walton injured, Palmer needed to be a safe pair of hands and was exactly that from the start. Perhaps made a rod for his own back after his incredible debut against Aston Villa, with his levels somewhat dipping since, but he deserves huge praise for his impact.

Arrived with a great deal of hype and excitement but took a while to get going, adapting to a different role on the left flank. Four assists is the most of any Ipswich player in the Premier League, but we clearly didn’t see the best of him. Should have a big season in the Championship, where he’s consistently proved that he’s one of the better players.

Another January arrival, Julio Enciso showed a bit of everything on loan from Brighton. We saw a wonderful strike against Everton, a well-taken goal against Chelsea and three assists. He was aggressive and pressed well, but he offered next to nothing in terms of defensive work rate. Talented and frustrating in equal measure, his future could lead him anywhere.

Hit the ground running with a goal at Man City, which will go down as one of the moments of the season. Went on to score against Brentford, Spurs and Fulham. Struggled to recover from that injury he picked up at Craven Cottage - could have pushed for double digits if he was fit in the second half of the season.

Provided excellent cover for Delap when fit. Town really missed him when he was out through injury in the latter stages of 2024. Offered so much more than just goals, but scored a really big one at Everton, becoming the last away player to ever score at Goodison Park. Deserves his shot at being first-choice striker next season.

Started remarkably well, then suffered a hamstring injury and found it hard to recover his momentum. It was only when he replaced the suspended Leif Davis that he started to show his best, consistently performing at that level towards the end of the campaign. His goal at Anfield counted for nothing in the end, but was a great moment for him.

A disappointing season by all accounts. Took his goal against Leicester City really well, but his assist numbers have been surprisingly low and he's struggled defensively. Still played week in, week out - he'll be better for that experience. Spoke openly recently about his confidence taking a hit and is hopefully building it back up.

Developed really well as a player, learning to manage games, buy fouls and defend in shape. Perhaps the compromise is that his attacking numbers took a hit. Hopefully he stays for a big season in the Championship - I'm not sure he's ready to be a consistent starter at an established Premier League team yet.

In terms of pure quality, he ranks right towards the top. Unfortunately, availability has been an issue this season, with a couple of hamstring injuries and the freak household accident that almost claimed his thumb. If he stays, he'd be one of the top Championship players next season, but you can't blame him if he does decide to move on.

Taking on the Premier League for the first time in your career at the age of 32/33 deserves major credit. At his best, Sam Morsy looked like the same player we saw in the Championship, running the show and adding an aggressive presence in midfield. There were games where he looked off the pace, but he's had a good campaign all in all.

Mr. Consistent. Came into the team in September and never looked back. Played through a nasty rib injury, defended for his life and showed a surprising turn of pace for a centre-back. Another relegation may damage his stock externally, but he'll be a crucial player for Ipswich next season if he stays, and a key part of the leadership team as well.

Silky and smooth, Jens Cajuste arrived on loan with no real fanfare, and was expected to support Morsy and Phillips. Instead, he was one of Town's best players this season. His work on the ball was exceptional, but he wasn't afraid to get stuck in with big tackles. Surely Town couldn't tempt him to sign a permanent deal?

The main man, the obvious pick. Delap wasn't signed to lead the line for Ipswich, but they failed to sign another striker last summer, giving him the platform to show what he's capable of. His goalscoring return has been remarkable given the circumstances and he now looks destined to play at the highest level.
