Leeds United eye Caoimhin Kelleher transfer alternative amid Jack Rudoni verdict

Leeds United continue to be linked with a number of incoming transfers as Daniel Farke's side plot a major summer rebuild ahead of their return to the Premier League.

The Whites have not yet brought in any additions after the transfer window opened, but speculation has shown no sign of slowing down.

The club's owners, the 49ers, have reportedly given Leeds a £120 million transfer kitty this summer in an attempt to avoid the drop.

With that in mind, LeedsLive has taken a look at the latest transfer news and rumours...

Whites eye move for Premier League veteran

The Daily Mail claims Leeds United are considering a move for Wolves' goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, with Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher closing in on a departure to Brentford.

The report claims the Whites have the 32-year-old goalkeeper on their list of potential targets this summer, with Aaron Ramsdale also being considered.

Daniel Farke's side had reportedly been keen to sign Kelleher this summer, but he's closing in on a move to the Bees after they agreed terms with Bayer Leverkusen for goalkeeper Mark Flekken.

Thomas Frank's side have wasted no time in bringing in a replacement, with an announcement said to be make in the coming weeks.

LeedsLive says: "Kelleher would have been the number one priority for some fans, but his move to Brentford looks nailed on. Sam Johnstone is a strange link given he's in the latter stages of his career, but he's been a regular in the top flight throughout his career."

Leeds United transfer target told to think carefully about Elland Road switch

Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has questioned whether a move to Leeds United would be the right thing for Coventry City star Jack Rudoni this summer, amid ongoing speculation linking him with a move to Elland Road.

The Sky Blues midfielder was a standout performer for Frank Lampard's resurgent side, who were beaten in the Championship play-off semi-finals by eventual promotion winners Sunderland.

Speaking to Football League World, Goodman said: “Coventry will be really positive in the summer and Jack Rudoni is playing for his boyhood hero under Frank Lampard. "Coventry will show ambition to be at the very top of the Championship next season.

“If he goes to Leeds, will he get the game time? "You obviously have to back yourself and have confidence.

"I’m sure he would do that. "I can understand temptation, but I’d be thinking very carefully about it.”

LeedsLive says: "Like Goodman says, there are a number of question marks regarding a move for Rudoni and whether he'd be able to cut it in the top flight. A move for the Sky Blues man would be a gamble, but one that could pay off, even if central midfield isn't a priority this summer."
