Report: £25,000-a-week Nottingham Forest player subject of enquiries from Saudi Arabia, he…

Nottingham Forest will be doing a serious reshuffle of their squad this summer, with a number of ingoings and outgoings expected in the transfer market.

Keeping hold of the club’s star players will certainly be the order of the day. Morgan Gibbs-White is being linked with Manchester City, but as Evangelos Marinakis proved last summer with Murillo, he’s renowned for driving a hard bargain.

Three Brazilian stars are set to sign for Forest in the coming week. As a result, there needs to be some departures from the ranks as Nuno Espirito Santo aims to improve the strength in depth, whilst also trying to maintain a somewhat streamlined squad.

Forest will try desperately to cling on to the likes of Gibbs-White, Murillo, Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, but Ramon Sosa is being linked to Palmeiras and another fringe player is now also wanted too.

Nottingham Forest star Jota Silva now wanted by Saudi Arabian outfits

According to The Express, Saudi Arabian clubs have made enquiries into the availability of Jota Silva, with the player largely used fleetingly during the 2024/25 campaign.

Silva played 31 times in the Premier League during his maiden season in England, but it was perhaps telling that 26 of those games came as a substitute, with the player behind Hudson-Odoi and Elanga in the pecking order.

The 25-year-old scored three times in the top-flight for Forest last term. Although sometimes erratic, he did prove to be a useful substitute for Espirito Santo when the Reds found themselves chasing games.

Forest have the UEFA Conference League to think about next season and with that in mind, the £25,000-a-week Silva might earn a reprieve at the City Ground and one more season to prove that he’s truly got what it takes in England.

Forest should consider Jota Silva sale

Although the player has done alright when called upon this season, the team needs to make sure that better players are coming off the bench at various points of the 2025/26 campaign.

Silva has proved capable in short bursts from the bench, and he might well prove a useful player to have in the ranks for the Conference League and arguably the domestic cup competitions too.

Ultimately, however, he’s fallen a little bit short in the Premier League. He’s often had little impact when added to the team by Espirito Santo, and given that he only cost the club around £6 million, there is nothing really to lose by selling him.

The Forest squad has to be on point next year. Admittedly, reshuffling everything in one summer will be tricky, but if an official offer from Saudi Arabia is forthcoming, the club simply has to consider it seriously.
