Footballers schedules are seemingly never ending, especially in the modern game. Where players of days gone by got months to run free from May to July, it’s very different for those in the pro game today.
Even in a summer where a major international tournament isn’t on the agenda, there’s plenty of Newcastle United players still yet to really put their feet up, with games representing their respective nations soon to resume. Only then, after two rounds of international fixtures, will the likes of skipper Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Dan Burn and Anthony Gordon truly be able to relax.
And relax they’ll need to do, with the Magpies set for arguably their most challenging and important campaigns in 2025/26 lying ahead. The club return to the Champions League after one season outside of the competition in September and will defend their Carabao Cup soon after. They’ll also be looking to make it back-to-back European campaigns for the first time in two decades and keep growing financially, in order to really break the Premier League elite. It also can’t be forgotten, too, derby days are back, with Sunderland promoted to the top flight for the first time in nearly a decade.
But, before all of that kicks off - and it’ll be here before we know it, no doubt - the players are jetting off on their holidays all over the world - and we have pulled together a gallery of some of the places they’ve travelled. Check them out in the gallery below.
