Leeds United keen on Aston Villa man, player stance clarified

Leeds United are interested in a move for Aston Villa playmaker Emi Buendia, according to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

Leeds United are keen on luring the attacking midfielder to Elland Road this summer. LUFC are preparing for life back in the Premier League following their promotion from the Championship.

Buendia, 28, is back at Aston Villa following his recent loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen. He is facing an uncertain future at Villa Park though.

In this latest update regarding his situation, reporter Nixon has claimed on Patreon that he is on the radar of the Whites. However, the player isn’t believed to be open to a potential relegation battle next season though which means Daniel Farke may need to look at alternatives.

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery had this to say about Buendia back in January before his temporary switch to Bayer Leverkusen, as per a report by the Express & Star: “Maybe he can have the possibility to leave. For him, it could be something where he can play more, get more minutes, get confidence again and being comfortable playing again in the starting XI. Of course, now he is helping us and I am happy with his attitude.”
