Alan Myers responds with two words when asked if Everton will sign Richarlison this summer

Everton are expected to be busy this summer transfer window.

The Friedkin Group have banked £140m in prize money and are ready to hand David Moyes a healthy budget to rebuild the squad.

The Toffees already have their sights set on Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade, who enjoyed a prolific season in the Bundesliga last term.

West Ham United forward Niclas Fullkrug thinks Woltemade would be an excellent signing for Everton, labelling him so ‘intelligent and clever’.

Richarlison has also emerged as target for Moyes’ number nine spot and now Alan Myers has provided an update on that situation.

Alan Myers gives verdict on Richarlison to Everton

Richarlison has been teasing Everton fans on social media about a possible return to Goodison Park three years after departing.

It was being reported that Moyes really likes Richarlison, but now, when asked if he could re-sign with the Toffees this summer, Alan Myers poured cold water on that suggestion.

Myers doesn’t expect the Brazilian to make an emotional homecoming and Moyes did recently admit that those rumours didn’t come from him.

“There is zero truth in that in my side,” the Scotsman told reporters.

Moyes fully focussed on Woltemade it seems

Evidently, Moyes is looking to sign a physically imposing centre-forward, having already tried for Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.

The attention has now turned to Woltemade, who stands at a towering 6ft 6 and is of a similar profile to Delap.

Stuttgart are scrambling to tie Woltemade down to a new contract, with Arsenal also interested in signing him.

The 23-year-old has just been called up to the Germany senior squad for the first time, having netted 17 times in the Bundesliga last term.

33 appearances

17 goals

3 assists

He’s valued at around £34m, so it won’t be a cheap deal to do for Everton.
