A former Everton boss has emerged as a candidate to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Despite just winning the Europa League, the Australian’s future in North London is hanging in the balance. Premier League performances have been inadequate, and Daniel Levy is now looking towards alternatives for the role.
After success at his current club, a former Everton boss who failed on Merseyside has emerged as a contender for the role just a few days after former Toffee John Heitinga became Ajax head coach.
There is a lot of change happening this summer for the Blues, with Everton moving into the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the 2025/26 season, and it also looks like there will be some big moves between Premier League managers.
Football transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano has shared the news that a previous Everton boss who endured a bitter end on Merseyside is now set to land one of the biggest jobs of his career.

Former Everton boss Marco Silva linked to Tottenham job
While he has enjoyed success elsewhere, it is fair to say Marco Silva did not have the best of times at Everton.
The 47-year-old finished eighth in his first season on Merseyside, but was sacked in December 2019 following a 5-2 loss to Liverpool, which left Everton 18th in the table.
However, Silva has since found success with Fulham, guiding them up to the Premier League and keeping them in the top flight for the last three seasons.

Now, according to Romano, Silva is one of the candidates for the Spurs role, which could become vacant in the next few days.

Should he join, Silva would be managing in the Champions League for the third time in his managerial career, having been in the competition with Sporting and Olympiacos.
Despite the frosty end to his Everton career, Silva still has fond memories of his stint. Silva’s favourite Goodison memory was beating Manchester United 4-0, admitting it was an “emotional moment” for him.
Marco Silva’s record at Everton amid Tottenham links
Silva will undoubtedly have a big job on his hands if he were to land the Spurs job. Fans will be eager for more success after getting their hands on silverware for the first time in 17 years.
Everton could also re-sign a player signed by Silva in 2018. Coincidentally, it is Richarlison from Spurs. Richarlison has been linked with a return to Merseyside, but there are doubts Everton can sign him this summer.

Instead, Everton are eyeing a move for Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade, but they must fight off interest from Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Brighton.
David Moyes is a fan of Richarlison, but it looks like a deal for him will be just out of reach this summer.
