Are You West Ham in Disguise? Deadpool in Triple Hammer Raid

Three West Ham veterans could be on the cusp of reuniting, according to a report in this morning’s Mirror.

Out-of-contract Hammers favourite Aaron Cresswell, as well as Danny Ings, have been linked with a move to high-flying Wrexham.

The Welsh club have been soaring through the leagues with a sprinkling of Hollywood stardust, finding themselves in the Championship following back-to-back promotions.

The club, which boasts the title of the third-oldest football club in the world, is owned by movie star Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney — who is also famous, although I’m not entirely sure what for!

The duo have used their celebrity status to propel the club into the consciousness of non-football fans thanks to their reality show Welcome to Wrexham.

The Disney+ production has brought an impressive stream of money and global awareness to a club that, until very recently, was battling away in the fifth tier of English football. And now, it appears manager Phil Parkinson is planning to use some of that money to recruit experienced players.

West Ham have released both Cresswell and Ings — and both are reported to be high on Wrexham’s wanted list. As reported at the end of last week, former Hammer Craig Dawson is also being eyed by the Welsh outfit, meaning Reynolds & Co could soon be assembling a West Ham “Dad’s Army” to help drive the Red Dragons into the Premier League.
