Jarrad Branthwaite continues to be linked away from Everton as the summer transfer window gets underway.

Branthwaite has gained admiration from other Premier League sides for quite some time and Tottenham are the latest side to join the race.

As David Moyes looks to oversee his first proper transfer window alongside The Friedkin Group, a big sale could help kickstart things on Merseyside.

Tottenham eyeing Branthwaite transfer

Moyes transformed things at Goodison Park since his return to Everton earlier this season and is now looking for much more success next term.

With increased investment expected from TFG, too, supporters will be hoping for more positive times.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

However, to keep in line with PSR regulations, the Toffees will know the importance of cashing in at the right time, and Branthwaite could be the answer to that question.

Having been a standout performer for the Blues across a difficult period, the defender has consistently had interest from elsewhere.

Branthwaite has been a reliable figure at Everton.

With just two years left on his current contract, it could be the right time to strike and Tottenham are one of the sides looking at making a move.

According to The Times (2 June), the Lilywhites are considering making a move for Branthwaite as they prepare to cope with the demands of Champions League football next season.

Marc Guehi was another option, although the report states that the Crystal Palace man is not keen on a move to north London.

Therefore, this could push the Everton man further up the list of targets and make a move possible.

Everton to lose Branthwaite

After years of mismanagement at Goodison, Everton may need to bring some money in through transfers.

Branthwaite is undoubtedly a big asset, and if Spurs are keen on him to boost their options for life in the Champions League, Everton could well see a deal to be done.

Moyes is already looking at transfers for new defensive players, with both Jerome Opoku and Maxime Esteve being linked with moves to Merseyside as potential replacements.

Everton do need to keep hold of their strongest squad members to ensure the foundations are in place to be built upon going forward, but passing up on deals that could provide a financial boost has to be considered too.
