A few days ago, it was reported Manchester City’s first offer for AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders had been rejected.
The Citizens had offered €60m but the Italian giants had asked them to pay a higher sum to land the midfielder. More has now emerged about this situation and it seems as if Pep Guardiola isn’t the only one pushing for a transfer.
Gazzetta dello Sport report today that Reijnders is now ‘pushing to fly across the Channel’ and join Manchester City quickly, and Milan are expecting a fee of over €70m in the next offer that comes their way.
The belief is that the Netherlands international will double his wages at the Etihad Stadium and in the meantime, Milan are monitoring potential replacements.
New manager Max Allegri worked with French midfielder Adrien Rabiot during his time at Juventus and wants him at Milan, if the Rossoneri sell Reijnders to Manchester City.
The report claims that Allegri is in quite a bit of hurry to sort out his squad for pre-season and this planning involves executing sales so that the Italian has some amount of certainty about the players he will have next season.
