Arsenal have reportedly withdrawn from the race to sign Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, according to journalist Carlos Monfort.
The Gunners are likely to be busy during the summer transfer window as they aim to go one step further in the Premier League next season. This term, Arsenal fell short in the title race, with Liverpool comfortably finishing in first place with plenty of games to spare.
Liverpool have been acting fast in the market, with a deal for Jeremie Frimpong already finalised, so Arsenal can't afford to be left behind. Mikel Arteta's side undoubtedly need reinforcements if they want to go to the next level after failing to lift a trophy this season.
Arsenal Withdraw From Race to Sign Joan Garcia
Not willing to pay €25m
Espanyol's Joan Garcia
Reporting on X, journalist Monfort has claimed that Arsenal have now withdrawn from the race to sign Garcia. The Gunners feel that it's not worth investing heavily in a goalkeeper with David Raya already at the club. Garcia, described as 'world-class' by FotMob, could cost in the region of €25m, but he could find it difficult to displace Raya if he were to join.

Bringing in new attackers could be more of a priority for Arsenal rather than signing a goalkeeper this summer. Sources have confirmed to GIVEMESPORT that the north London club are interested in signing Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, who is out of contract this summer as it stands.
Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo is another target for Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window. Bukayo Saka's injury this season highlighted the lack of depth Arteta has in attack, so it could be a major priority for the window.
The Gunners have also struggled to score goals in comparison to their Premier League rivals, and signing a centre-forward is the move on a lot of Arsenal fans' lips with the summer transfer window now open, at least temporarily, for business.
