‘Not A Surprise’‘Sell Him For£40M’Fans React As Chelsea Look To Offload Player Who Started 31 Times Last Season

Chelsea are “open to offers” for Noni Madueke despite the winger having featured prominently in Enzo Maresca’s first season as head coach, according to reports.

The 23-year-old started 31 times in all competitions last campaign (including 27 in the Premier League) but The Guardian report that the Blues are prepared to let him leave. Based on the reaction from fans on X, it seems most agree with the decision:

Not a surprise.

Madueke’s attitude has often been questioned

Despite scoring 11 goals and registering 5 assists during the 2024/25 campaign, Maresca has not always seen eye to eye with the forward. He dropped him from the matchday squad entirely for the defeat to Fulham on Boxing Day.

Prior to that at the start of December, Madueke had also been warned about his attitude, having been dropped to the bench for the win over Aston Villa. Maresca did, however, start him in the final eight league matches, although he did replace him at halftime in two of them.

Who could Chelsea sign as his replacement?

Madueke is ostensibly a right-winger while the vast majority of the club’s targets to strengthen in wide areas are for the left flank.

For that reason, it is difficult to know at this stage who will be snapped up. The Blues may be banking on new recruit Estevao Willian to take on the mantle.

Of course, a lot still depends on whether the club receive offers for Madueke. He was signed from PSV at the start of 2023 for £30m and they will be hoping to make a profit from his sale if he does depart this summer.
