Manchester United’s post-season tour of Asia came to an end on Friday as they defeated Hong Kong 3-1.
The Red Devils were beaten by ASEAN All-stars in their opening match of the tour, before falling behind early on against Hong Kong in their final game.
Youngster Chido Obi netted a brace, though, before Ayden Heaven added a third as Ruben Amorim’s side avoided yet another humiliating defeat.
United endured a dismal campaign last term, finishing 15th in the Premier League table and therefore failing to qualify for any form of European competition next season.
With that in mind, Amorim will want to bolster his squad during this summer’s transfer window, and it appears that United have their sights set on a Dutch midfielder.
According to CaughtOffside, both Manchester United and rivals Liverpool are keeping tabs on Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber.

The report claims that the two Premier League giants are among a number of clubs showing interest in the 23-year-old, who has been in fine form for the Rotterdam outfit.
Doubts have been raised about a potential move away from Feyenoord, however, after the midfielder suffered external lateral ligament damage in February, ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Prior to his injury, Timber had scored six goals in 26 appearances for the Dutch side across all competitions this season.
Timber’s current contract with Feyenoord has just over a year remaining on it and, while the Eredivisie giants are hoping to agree an extension, they could be tempted to cash in on the player this summer if an agreement can’t be reached.
The central midfielder played an important role for Feyenoord as they won the Dutch top flight title in 2024, under now-Liverpool boss Arne Slot.
