Leeds United are showing interest in a summer move for Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope, according to MailOnline.
The Whites are on the lookout for a new shot-stopper ahead of their Premier League return and are believed to be among the clubs to have earmarked Pope as a potential option.
The £100,000-a-week England international could be free to leave if Newcastle are successful in their pursuit of Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, who remains a target after agreeing to join last August.
Pope, who joined Newcastle from Burnley in 2022, is under contract at St James’ Park until June 2026.

According to MailOnline, Leeds are planning to strengthen their squad this summer following their Premier League return, as they look to avoid another short-lived stay in the top flight.
The Whites are expected to bring in a new shot-stopper to replace Illan Meslier and were previously named as potential suitors for Caoimhin Kelleher, who joined Brentford from Liverpool last weekend.
Pope, meanwhile, has been a regular for Newcastle this season, making 28 Premier League appearances, keeping eight clean sheets and conceding 35 goals.
The ‘phenomenal’ England international was forced to miss over two months of top-flight action after suffering a knee injury in December.
Leeds are also looking to bring in a new playmaker this summer and have identified Emiliano Buendia and Gustavo Hamer as targets.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Whites’ chances of landing Buendia in particular were boosted by their Premier League promotion, after they were unsuccessful in their attempts in January.
