**Leeds United will return to the Premier League next season after pipping Burnley to the Championship title this season.**
If the last two seasons in the Premier League have proven anything, it's that Manchester United are crap. If it's proven anything else, it's that it's really tough for promoted clubs to stay in the division.
Leeds United have clearly taken note as they seem very intent on signing Premier League proven players to help them stick around for more than one campaign.
In doing that, it's as if they have the Newcastle United squad list and have been circling players like an 80's kid did in the Argos catalogue leading up to Christmas - "I want that one!".

James Trafford is still expected to join Newcastle
Leeds United now want Nick Pope
-------------------------------
Leeds have already shown interest in Sean Longstaff and Callum Wilson, and now they're once again looking towards goalkeeper Nick Pope, according to [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leeds-newcastle-pope-burnley-trafford-35321400).
Newcastle are hoping to sign Burnley's James Trafford for next season after missing out last summer, and that could leave Pope wanting to move away to be No 1 elsewhere.
Pope has been a great 'keeper for Newcastle, but his inability to use his feet has been a huge problem for the Magpies, whereas Leeds simply need a goalkeeper whose hands are made of physical matter rather than being holographic projections like those of Illan Meslier.
Newcastle United's goalkeeper situation isn't getting any clearer
-----------------------------------------------------------------
We have absolutely no idea how Newcastle's goalkeeper situation is going to work out this summer. We have five keepers in the squad, and each one of them could move on before the next campaign.
James Trafford is almost nailed on to come in. The Joan Garcia thing seems to have been smoke and mirrors to push a move to Barcelona.
Who will be around to deputise for Trafford? Or will we keep Pope as No. 1 and have Trafford as backup? We were baffled last year by our goalkeeper situation, and it's no clearer now.
