Report: £25m star will give Nottingham Forest his decision this month, he was booked 11 times…

Nottingham Forest are going to be linked with a host of players during the summer transfer window, and that won’t come as a surprise to many on the banks of the River Trent.

Forest have been a little more stringent when it comes to recruitment over the past 12 months. Quality over quantity was the order of the day last summer, whilst the club opted not to sign anyone during the January window.

Evangelos Marinakis wanted a striker in January but chose to stand firm amid inflated prices on the market. Now, however, he will be keen to make up for lost time and go in pursuit of a number of players.

Forest are set to sign three stars from Botafogo in the coming days, and it’s pretty certain to say that the recruitment drive for this summer won’t be finishing there with more work still to be done.

Baris Alper Yilmaz will make Nottingham Forest decision very soon

The Galatasaray winger is going to be leaving Turkey very soon and Fanatik have claimed that Yilmaz will make his decision once the forthcoming internationals have been negotiated.

Four clubs are courting Yilmaz this summer. Forest and West Ham provide the interest from the Premier League, with Leipzig and Napoli both keen to take him to Germany or Italy, respectively.

The versatile winger has been in fine form for Galatasaray during 2024/25. Yilmaz scored 14 goals and claimed six assists last season, with three of those coming in the Europa League campaign.

Now, he’s set to depart Istanbul and it remains to be seen who will win the £25 million race to land the 25-year-old before the transfer window closes and teams start to finalise their squads.

Yilmaz boasts a physical presence on the wing

This could be a very useful signing for Forest. Yilmaz is at a nice age for a forward player and he’d most certainly represent an upgrade on Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa for the wide positions.

Yilmaz isn’t just renowned for his ability on the ball, it seems. During the last campaign, he was cautioned 11 times and quite clearly, that would suggest that he’s keen to get stuck in defensively too.

With European football on the cards, Forest need to make sure they’re covered all over the pitch. Yilmaz can provide that depth and ensure that Nuno Espirito Santo has a number of options for the four competitions that his team will participate in.
