Pep Guardiola has praised Barcelona target Joan Garcia and appeared to suggest his Manchester City team are not in the race for the stopper.
Barcelona are said to be closing in on a deal for Garcia, although several Premier League clubs - including City - are also though to be keen.
Guardiola was asked about Garcia and made his admiration for the Espanyol star.
“I think he’ll be a very good goalkeeper. Whether we’re interested in him or not… It seems like City is interested in 500 players every window. The players tells me he’s an extraordinary goalkeeper. And the references we have tell us he’s very good.”
Guardiola then appeared to suggest his team wouldn’t be making any goalkeeping changes despite talk of a potential exit for Ederson.
“I don’t touch much about goalkeeping. I need to make good saves and passes,” he added. We’ve been talking about the squad situation for a few weeks now... we have two goalkeepers who will stay.”
