Fabrizio Romano issues 'very clear' transfer update on Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes

Man Utd could lose their club captain in the summer transfer window and here is the latest.

Fabrizio Romano claims Bruno Fernandes' agent is ready to hold talks with Manchester United over a potential summer exit from the club. It is understood the 30-year-old is 'seriously considering' a move to Al-Hilal but has yet to make a final decision over his future.

The Saudi club are prepared to offer a transfer fee in the region of £100 million for the United club captain and would almost triple the player's wages in a deal worth roughly £200 million over three years. This proposal would make Fernandes the most expensive sale in United's history, though there has been no official approach to the club yet.

Ruben Amorim has reiterated his desire to keep Fernandes at the club this summer and United are believed to be 'relaxed' with the situation, though they won't stand in his way if he asks to leave. It has been suggested the Portugal international began to consider an exit after United lost in the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur and failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Fabrizio Romano issues Bruno Fernandes transfer update

Al-Hilal are yet to make a formal offer for Bruno Fernandes and will reportedly only do so once they have had approval from the player that he wants to leave Manchester United. The Saudi club want to have Fernandes signed in time for the Club World Cup later this month and have set a deadline for the end of the week.

It means things could move quickly if Fernandes decides he wants to leave the club and Fabrizio Romano says the player's agent, Miguel Pinho, is ready to hold talks with United over his possible exit. “The agent of Bruno Fernandes, Miguel Pinho, is back in Europe," Romano said in a video on his YouTube channel. "He was in Munich yesterday for the Champions League final, following Paris Saint-Germain player Nuno Mendes.

“So that was an important point. Miguel Pinho is back in Europe, ready to have contact with Manchester United and to clarify what could happen with Al-Hilal. Al-Hilal are again prepared to pay whatever it takes for Manchester United and whatever it takes for Bruno Fernandes. So the conversation Al-Hilal-Bruno is ongoing, but Al-Hilal have been very clear. They want Bruno Fernandes.”

What Ruben Amorim said about Fernandes future

When Ruben Amorim spoke to the press last Friday, he played down the suggestion Bruno Fernandes might have played his final Manchester United match. “I don’t think so. I don't know for sure, nobody does, but I don't think so,” he told reporters in Hong Kong. “He's seeing us taking some actions to change all the things and I think that is all he asks. I think he wants to stay - he's saying no to a lot of things, he shows that he wants to win. He's really young, he's really good and he needs to be in the best league in the world."

When asked if United could turn down a possible £100 million bid for the midfielder, he added: “Yes. The club can find other ways to make money. I am the manager, the coach, but sometimes it is the decision of the player. Of course I talk with him, I explain things. I just have that feeling. When you talk to someone you get the feeling if they want to stay. He knows what we are doing. The feeling I have every time I speak with him is that he wants to continue for sure with Manchester United, you never know."
