Caoimhin Kelleher is set to make a move to finally become a regular number 1 as he's set to move to Brentford for around €20 million.
He's set to come int as a replacement fro Mark Flekken, who's set to join Erik ten Hag's Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth €10 million. This move has come at the right time as the now 26-year old Kelleher has proven that he is ready to be first choice for a Premier League side and in Brentford he has the ideal set up to succeed.
He'll get the opportunity to line up alongside international teammate Nathan Collins and in Thomas Frank, Brentford have one of the best coaches in the league at improving players. The likes of David Raya, Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbuemo have all shone under Frank and after playing 10 games this season for a title-winning Liverpool side, Kelleher has proven that he can be more than a backup.
It's a great move for Kelleher and it's one that will have ramifications for his hometown side Ringmahon Rangers too. Kelleher made the €30,000 move to Liverpool's academy 10 years ago back in 2015.

It's now being reported that a 20% sell-on clause was written into that deal, with Cork-based journalist Dylan O'Connell tweeting that the fee will be in the region of €4.2 million. Some of that fee will also go to another of Kelleher's former side, Rockmount AFC.
Kelleher to Brentford is one story. The other part of it is the sell-on clause Ringmahon hold. It's valued at 20% which comes in at €4.2m, with some of the monies owed to Rockmount. https://t.co/d0KKpwZ3nX

Rangers had already received a nice sum of €50,000 from Liverpool when Kelleher made his Ireland debut 2021 but this fee will go a long way for the club that has produced a number of players including Alan Browne and the two Umeh brothers, Franco who plays at Crystal Palace and the highly-touted Jaden who currently plays for Benfica in Portugal.
It's a fee that could help go a long way for football in Cork, a hotbed for talent down the years headlined by Roy Keane. More investment in facilities is needed across the board in Irish football so this is a great chance for those at Ringmahon to help hone the next generation of Irish talent.
