Bruno Fernandes’ future has been a hot topic at Manchester United ever since Al-Hilal laid their eyes on him but Cristiano Ronaldo’s future could be interlinked with him.
Al-Hilal’s interest in Bruno Fernandes has developed rapidly in recent days from “monitoring” to “No. 1 target at all costs”.
Combine that with Man Utd’s precarious financial situation and Fernandes considering the move too, and it seemed like his days at Old Trafford were unexpectedly numbered.
Ruben Amorim keeps stressing that Fernandes won’t leave, and now the latest update on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future by Fabrizio Romano might help keep the Man Utd captain at the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo latest
Fernandes is currently the subject of a transfer saga but so is Ronaldo after his message which hinted at a potential departure from Al-Nassr.
Al-Nassr haven’t qualified for the Club World Cup so there were suggestions that the Saudi Pro League will move him to Al-Hilal, who have qualified.
The Saudi Pro League has a questionable system of ownership where some of the elite teams are all owned by the government investment fund, making these moves easy.
It was recently reported that Ronaldo to Al-Hilal could influence Fernandes, with the chance to create a genuine superteam by Saudi standards an enticing one.

However, Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Ronaldo could be set to re-sign with Al-Nassr after some promises of ambition and high-profile transfers.
He said: “Al Nassr are set to present their plan to Cristiano Ronaldo hoping to get new deal sorted. The club’s preparing changes to get Cristiano’s green light… and sign new contract to continue at Al Nassr.
“Luis Diaz, David Hancko, world class midfielder and more targets have been added to summer shortlist.”

Bruno Fernandes likely to stay at Man Utd
Now that the idea of a superteam with Ronaldo at Al-Hilal looks unlikely, it is looking more likely than ever that Fernandes ends up staying.
The player himself has been at pains to make it clear that the decision to leave, if that comes, will always be the club’s, which is a smart media move by him.
He has never looked like a player who’s driven by money, valuing competitiveness and responsibility over everything else.
Add to that Amorim’s confidence that his captain won’t leave, and it would be a really bad look for Ineos if they don’t back the manager now.
All the dominoes are falling in the direction of the player staying. Now to build a good team around him so he gets the success he deserves.
