Sky Sports have reported that West Ham want a number nine and a midfielder as our transfer priorities this summer.
However, Sky’s report ended on an alarming note, suggesting: “the rest of their summer plans are yet to be drawn up.” Really?
If true, this revelation is a serious concern and raises further questions about why manager Graham Potter and chairman David Sullivan are away on holiday just as the transfer window opens.

With over ten players expected to depart the London Stadium, the club should be at the forefront of transfer dealings. Yet, if Sky are to be believed, Potter, Sullivan, and head of recruitment Kyle Macaulay are still undecided on which players and positions need reinforcement beyond a striker and a midfielder.
Let’s hope this particular story is just idle speculation — because West Ham are about to enter a crucial transfer period without a director of football. At the very least, we need to trust the club has their summer target list properly drawn up and ready.
