West Ham are plotting to bring Aleksandar Mitrovic back to the Premier League.

The former Fulham man notched 38 goals and 11 assists in 129 top-flight appearances before securing a move to Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal in 2023.

Graham Potter is in desperate need of additional firepower in the summer transfer window, with the likes of Niclas Fullkrug and Evan Ferguson failing to spark the Hammers into life.

West Ham to bring Mitrovic back to England

David Sullivan needs to back the former Brighton manager to improve his squad to avoid another miserable season.

A report from talkSPORT (2 June) claims that the Irons are monitoring the 30-year-old star along with Everton.

Mitrovic would be a great addition for West Ham

The E20 outfit scored just 46 goals in this campaign, with only Everton, Manchester United and the three relegated teams putting the ball in the net fewer.

Fullkrug notched a total of three goals all season, and Ferguson did not manage a single strike in his loan spell under Potter, so the issue desperately needs to be addressed.

Mitrovic, on the other hand, has scored 68 goals in 79 games with the Saudi outfit, which is a brilliant return, and it may be the perfect time to come back to English football before his finishes his career.

The veteran was still a handful for defences when he left and many questioned moving to Saudi while he was still at the peak of his powers, notching 14 goals in his last full Premier League campaign.

He is the type of player that every team needs, one that is willing to get stuck in and do the dirty work and more importantly, he would bring something that the Irons lack sorely, composure in front of goal.

It would be a fantastic start to the window if Potter and Co could seal his signature, especially if he is willing to take a pay cut as personal terms should be easier to agree on.
