Exclusive: Manchester United now open to selling 'incredible' £47m player as Ruben Amorim plots changes

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Manchester United are now open to selling one of their first-team players for the right price.

Coming off a miserable season, finishing 15th in the Premier League and ending their campaign without a trophy, Man United have a big summer ahead of them.

With Ruben Amorim deciding to stay at United, the club is set to back him with several new signings that suit his style.

But, given the strict Financial Fair Play and Profitability and Sustainability Rules, the Red Devils will have to sell before spending a significant amount of money on incomings.

There are several players linked with moves away, including Andre Onana, with reports suggesting he is in advanced talks with Saudi side NEOM FC.

Manchester United’s stance on Andre Onana

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that despite the reports, NEOM FC have not had any contact with Manchester United or Onana over a potential deal.

The Saudi Pro League club are being linked with a host of big names after their promotion to the top-flight.

Despite there being no contact between the club and Onana until now, TBR Football understands that the Red Devils are open to changes in their goalkeeping department and would consider allowing Onana to leave, should they receive a suitable offer.

Andre Onana’s time at Manchester United

Onana joined United from Inter Milan in a deal worth £47m, arriving with a strong reputation built on his outstanding performances in Italy.

And while he has made some ‘absolutely incredible‘ saves during his time at Old Trafford, it is his frequent mistakes that have become the highlight of his time at the club, most recently against Lyon in the Europa League.

The poor showing led to the manager benching him for the following match, and recent reports suggest that Ruben Amorim is ready to sell Onana in the summer.

With both club and manager open to replacing Onana, there are several names they could target this summer.

Aston Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez has been backed to join Man United, with his former coach tipping him to be a success at Old Trafford.

United were also linked with Joan Garcia, but it has been reported that Garcia has decided to join Barcelona.
