Warriors' Stephen Curry Announces Major Career Goal With Retirement Looming

It was a solid season for the Golden State Warriors as they once again made a playoff run before ultimately being eliminated in the second round by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Of course, the Warriors had a slow start to the season but that changed quickly after they acquired Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline to pair alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

With their new veteran trio, the Warriors were able to make a run to the playoffs but unfortunately for them they were unable to overcome Curry’s injury in the second round as they fell to the Timberwolves in five games.

Now the Warriors enter a crucial offseason as they try to build around their aging core as they try to compete for another championship next season.

Of course, Curry, Butler and Green are all nearing their final seasons in the NBA so the Warriors will try to do everything in their power to build another championship roster.

For Curry, he recently sat down with CNBC where he discussed his future after his NBA career is over and he made a major announcement about what may be next for him in his career path.

“The idea of being a part of an ownership group and the right opportunity that allows me to have an impact on how a franchise should be operated... that's something I'm excited about pursuing,” Curry said.

This is a major announcement by Curry as he has opened the door to possibly becoming a partial owner of a franchise in the future, though he did not specify if it would be an NBA team.

Of course, there have been many sports legends that have become partial owners after their playing careers including Tom Brady, Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson.

There are also current players including both LeBron James and Patrick Mahomes who have also become owners while still playing in their respective sports.

For Curry, he has the mindset to be a great partial owner in the future, especially on the basketball side, but as of now, he still has a few more seasons left in the NBA where he will try to win multiple championships to close out his future Hall of Fame career in Golden State.
