Opinion: Wonderkid liked by Slot could leave Liverpool this summer, Fabrizio Romano confirmed…

One Liverpool wonderkid who is well liked by Arne Slot could be leaving the club this summer.

Unfortunately, not everyone can graduate from the club's academy. In fact only a very small percentage of players actually do make it at Liverpool.

The reality is that the competition is fierce and the standards are high. No matter how talented of a young player you are, sometimes the odds are stacked against you as well.

It's especially difficult for attacking players right now. Florian Wirtz is expected to join the club meanwhile Liverpool already have the likes of Mohamed Salah as well as Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo.

Competing against players like this who are some of the best in the world is simply impossible and that's why it's highly likely that Liverpool could lose a talented wonderkid, who even Slot seems to like.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Wolverhampton have made an approach to Liverpool for Kieran Morrison.

Romano claims that the 18-year-old has also attracted interest from European clubs. But Wolves seem to be the most interested in his services at the moment.

Morrison is a very talented individual. As we revealed previous in our interview with academy expert Lewis Bower, he's attracted the attention of Slot himself, with the Dutchman seemingly a fan.

"I really like the way he rides contact and keeps control of the ball and his ball striking the consistency of is ridiculous. That's definitely one of his biggest assets," Bower said.

"When he gets in those pockets, he's always going to be a threat with whichever side he's in. And, yeah he's got a bit of one vs one trickery as well. He's definitely capable of a trick or two.

"He seems to be well liked by Arnie Slot. He's been in first team training this week. And the impression is Arnie Slot is very much of a mindset, if you're not good enough, if you can't cope with intensity you can't be there, so that bodes extremely well for him.

"Northern Ireland have an exciting young player on their hands."

Morrison made the most goal contributions for Liverpool's U21 side this season. He's an attacking midfielder who can play out wide and as a false nine as well.

But these positions are stacked at Liverpool. With Romano confirming interest in Morrison from Wolves and from European sides a departure just seems like the most likely scenario.

Morrison is better off trying to get minutes elsewhere, where he is guaranteed a pathway into the first team.

Fortunately, for Liverpool there are elite calibre players, who are fully fledged internationals and still very young themselves, which means they are in a great position when it comes to their depth in the roles Morrison plays in.

This is obviously unfortunate for Morrison, but it will merely necessitate for him to move on and spread his wings. He's fully of talent and we are confident he will have a successful career.

Perhaps somewhere down the line that career could even take him back to Anfield.
