According to the Liverpool Echo, Contract negotiations between Liverpool and Ibrahima Konaté (26) have been progressing well through May. The French centre-back’s contract with the Anfield club is set to expire in 2026 and has been linked with a move away from the Premier League champions this summer.
Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have both been heavily linked with a potential move for the former RB Leipzig centre-back. However, Liverpool are hopeful of signing the France international defender to a new contract. In October, all signs pointed towards Konaté signing a new contract, but talks have since stalled.
The Merseyside club will be hoping to avoid a similar situation they suffered this season with the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The latter ended up leaving his formative club and joining Real Madrid, who have shown an interest in signing Konaté this summer.
