**Liverpool are still locked in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over the fee and payment structure for the transfer for mercurial talent Florian Wirtz.**
Florian Plettenberg reports today that “nothing much has changed” between the two clubs as talks continue.
As things stand, Liverpool’s second bid has been rejected and although _“both teams want a quick agreement”,_ Leverkusen reportedly “have a different overall package in mind” than the one _“currently being offered..”_
It does seem as though the Reds will get it done and what a player he will be for Arne Slot. Liverpool were electric and often unstoppable this season but they sometimes lacked inspiration in central midfield in the final third.
In Wirtz, they have a player that can either provide the scoring touch himself with 16 goals this season or he can set them up for the likes of Mohamed Salah with his 15 assists underlining what a terrifying double threat the 21-year-old is.
Fulkrug backs Florian Wirtz to succeed – whether it’s at Liverpool or elsewhere
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug has shared insight into Florian Wirtz’s thinking when asked to comment on his potential move to the Premier League with Liverpool.
_“First of all, nothing official has been decided yet and I do not know whether that will be the case,”_ Fullkrug responded when prompted to speak on Wirtz’s links to Liverpool.
_“That means you won’t get any new information from me! But of course I talk to Flo a lot and we’ve talked about it a bit. Basically, Flo is simply an outstanding player with special qualities._
_“I think it doesn’t matter what league, as soon as you give Flo a meter too much it becomes dangerous and he can use these spaces very well. He is also very versatile and he can use these spaces with a dribble, with a pass or even with a finish because he is so flexible.”_
_“No matter where he goes I think he would work very well and even if it was Liverpool then I am sure that he would definitely bring this team forward.”_
