Lewandowski discusses whether he’s heading into last season at Barca

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has been talking about his future and asked whether he is heading into his final season at the club.

The Poland international has just enjoyed his best ever goalscoring campaign since joining [Barca but will turn 37 over the summer](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/6/1/24440952/robert-lewandowski-hungry-for-more-titles-as-barcelona-striker-insists-his-biological-age-is-30).

His current contract runs until 2026 but Lewandowski says it’s too early to decide his plans for next year yet.

> “I think I have enough time to decide what I want to do after next season. I can play at the same level as last season, but that’s football, you know. There’s also something else outside of football that can ultimately change what’s on my mind, for example,” he told Mundo Deportivo.

>

> “That’s why I think it’s too early to think about these things now. I have a little time to rest, then I also have time for preseason and to prepare well for the season. I’m sure I’ll be physically fit.

>

> “It’s a lot of things, I’m physically fine, I’m mentally fine. I can say what I want to do at the moment, but in football we’re talking about a year or more, and that’s a long time. In football, three months, a week, two weeks, is a long time.

> “But for now, I’m thinking the most important thing is that I’m preparing for a very good season. I’ll see, but now’s not the time; I feel good. I know a lot of people are looking at me for my age, not for my performances on the pitch.”

Lewandowski will get a good rest over the summer. He has been excused from Poland’s summer internationals, [admitting his body needs a rest after an intense season](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/26/24437338/barcelona-robert-lewandowski-explains-why-hes-not-joining-up-with-poland-squad).
