Liverpool supporters will have the opportunity to see Florian Wirtz in action this week as discussions over a potential transfer persist.
It's believed the Reds have already tabled offers for the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, one of which amounted to $149 million, but the Bundesliga outfit is yet to say yes to the Reds. Liverpool has already signed one Leverkusen player this summer in Jeremie Frimpong.
Both Liverpool and Leverkusen are keen to swiftly conclude negotiations as talks over a deal for Wirtz carry on. It's believed the German team values 22-year-old closer to the $171 million mark, a figure Fenway Sports Group (FSG) is reportedly willing to pay.
The summer transfer window swung open on Sunday and will stay that way until June 10, due to the Club World Cup.
The window will then shut for nearly a week before reopening for the remainder of the summer on June 16.

Julian Nagelsmann's squad will take on Portugal in the Nations League semifinal, hoping to secure a spot in the final against either Spain or France.
Wirtz has enjoyed an outstanding season for Leverkusen, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists in 45 appearances.
He was even better during the 2023-24 campaign, finding the net 18 times and producing 20 assists in 49 games to help his team win the Bundesliga title and German Cup.
Provided Nagelsmann selects the Leverkusen star, Liverpool fans will get to see Wirtz strut his stuff for Germany this week.
