centredevils can exclusively reveal that Rasmus Hojlund’s agents have held talks with Manchester United over the last couple of weeks.

These meetings were held to consider Rasmus’ future at the club with United being willing to consider serious offers for the striker.

Earlier, we reported on Rasmus Hojlund’s potential move to Inter Milan after the Italian side contacted the striker’s agents. The number 9 is considered to be high on a shortlist of targets to bring to the Italian club this summer.

The potential for Hojlund’s departure falls in a time of major change within the club both on the field with the summer transfer window and off the field with Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Manchester United have started the summer transfer window with intent with United reported to have targeted several strikers alongside a midfielder and goalkeeper. This all follows United’s confirmation that the club had signed Wolves striker Matheus Cunha on a 5 year deal with the transfer worth a fee of £62.5 million.

Reasons For A Hojlund Departure

United will aim to construct a squad strong enough to compete for Europe next season and with a reported £125 million transfer budget, the Red Devils may need to move certain players on to both make space for newer players and to give the recruitment team at Old Trafford more funds to work with as they try to make transfers happen within the squad.

This would make Hojlund’s departure make sense and explains rumours of other player departures such as Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho who are rumoured to join several sides ahead of next season.

Hojlund’s departure would also make room for a second striker which Manchester United have been reported to be in the market for. An arrival of a second striker would add to United’s striker base and provide cover in the position when it is needed.
